“Ladies, what are you wearing?”

I’m not sure why the question bothered me. But the next comment bothered me more.

“Remember to dress on brand.”

A group of speakers were being coached for an up coming in-person speaking gig, and the question of ‘what are you wearing’ was a hot topic.

Knowing that everything I do, say, and yes, wear, is a part of my brand, only truly helps me if I’m at the point in life where I don’t give a fuck what anyone else thinks, and am being my badass self.

How do I know I’m “there,” “there”…

This was going to be about becoming an empty nester.

But change happens in so many different ways, I thought. This is really about what happens inside, no matter what is changing.

I agreed with my wise self and decided to reach out to my healer friends for their best tips. I roll with pretty amazing, talented, and very experienced practitioners and coaches who do this mind, body, soul health and wellness thing every day.

I felt the shift in energy in my home immediately in August when both kids moved to the University of Maryland. I’m sensitive like that…

I grabbed my BFF on our 49th birthdays (which are within two days of each other) and headed to the tattoo parlor. She got a belly button ring with an amethyst gem, and I got my first tattoo, a dragonfly. It was freedom we were celebrating; the feeling that life was only just getting started in a bigger, badassier way.

I’ve done a few more crazy things since then; the craziest things all occurring after I turned 50. Why the fearlessness all of a sudden? I think a midlife healing crisis culminates in a sort of unfuckwithableness. When…

I was talking to a colleague the other day about her podcast, “Fine is a Four-Letter Word,” and I had a moment thinking about the people I know who always answer the question of “How are you?” with, “Fine.” You know these people. You’ve probably been one of these people. Sometimes we answer that way because we’re not okay but don’t have the energy to get into the details. And sometimes we say, “Fine,” because we feel fine. Either way, I believe there’s an opportunity here.

My college-age son answers my, “How are you Bud?” with, “Fine,” a lot. I…

The world is online and loving the opportunities right now! I know I am. I’ve taken full advantage of all kinds of online networking groups during COVID, met all kinds of amazing people, and have grown my business as a result.

And, there’s a lot to learn in this big, badass world of effective business building and relationship making, isn’t there? Like introducing yourself in a a few seconds in a powerful enough way to pique people’s interest enough to want to know you better.

In the weekly meeting I run in Bethesda, Maryland, which is a chapter of Success…

Well, I got vaccinated…

…and I tell you, it feels like we should put this topic in the bucket with religion and politics in terms of not talking about it.

But you know me (and if you don’t, you should), I think that talking about the stuff that matters to us in a way that’s brave and encourages healing is how we do life a little better.

I had the J&J version. Drove about 45 minutes away to Hagerstown, Maryland for a MassVaxx site where the soldiers and nurses were waiting to help. No line. …

“Power Walk and Chat for World-Changers,” click. “Let’s go!” Click.

I pulled on the gloves that work on the iPhone, you know the ones with those funky tips that actually let you do stuff on the screen? My hat, two coats (it’s 30 degrees here today) and my earbuds were in place.

“I lost my party hat this week,” I told a colleague yesterday. You know the founders dreamed up all sorts of ways that jokes about being a virgin or sex could be worked into their BETA testing period. …

Wise, brave words. Just a few of them can change your perspective and your life. Well, feast your eyes and soul on the series of life-changing words here today.

The Brave Healer Blog Party is a tradition now. I hold this event at the finish of each Intuitive Writing and Speaking for Healers class I run, to showcase the incredibly talented coaches and practitioners who join me on the journey to finding and sharing our authentic voices in a bigger way. The theme this time around was uncertainty.

These men and women step up every single time. They step up…
