Three Game-Changing Reasons to Ditch Your Perfectionism for Good This Year
If you’re here to heal the world and your perfectionism is still paralyzing you get ready for a pep-talk today. I’ll be giving you a few game-changing reasons you can use to ditch that bad habit for good and step up, speak out and be the change you’re craving to be.
Listen you’re not here to play small, so why are you still in massive procrastination mode, listening to all those unhelpful voices in your head and letting them paralyze you?
“I know, I know,” you say to me. Sorry, that’s not good enough. I’m not accepting any excuses. You chose this journey; a healer, a writer, an artist, a world-changer.
You are a unique warrior-type of individual and you know it.
Stop playing around and figure this out: you must take the journey of doing what it is you came here to do so you can leave the legacy you were born for.
I know it’s scary. I myself have moved from painfully shy, full of fear, to speaking on stages. Painfully shy isn’t fun. My chest hurts just thinking about the places I’ve been so uncomfortable in my own skin I’d squirm from it. So shy and unworthy I couldn’t look you in the eyes when we talked. So doubtful of my own magnificent divinity I’d look for acknowledgement in every drink, drug, or boyfriend I could find.
Not pretty. The perfectionism paralyzed me for decades.
And more importantly, I wasted precious time trying to get everyone to like me when I actually could have been helping people and doing the world changing-healing I set out to do.
If you’re still sitting paralyzed by your own doubt, fear, shame, or uncertainty and the vision you had for your life and business swims around your head on a daily basis taunting you, then listen closely to what I’m about to say.
- You were born, so you’re worthy
- The mistakes and failures you’re afraid of, the perfection you’re shooting for, is a myth.
- Every moment you sit making this about you is a moment you steal from someone who really, really, really needs you, your message and your program.
What do you think? Is this enough? Will you let these three things really sink in this year? Or will you let your boring fears get in the way one more time, not take the risks, and leave people in the wake of your doubt, fear and indecision?
I have a feeling you’re listening now. Here are a few of extra details:
First — you were born, like every other human on the planet and that makes you enough. It makes you just as worthy as any other human. Just as deserving of a life of joy. Just as capable of miraculous things. Stop comparing. Stop doubting. Stop allowing the unworthiness you learned as child to keep you from the gifts you have to share.
Next — mistakes and failures. Do I really have to convince you they are stepping stones? You know this, right? Except you were taught mistakes and failures make you less than, to be afraid of them and avoid them at all costs. You were taught a huge myth. It’s the mistakes and failures, the experimentations and opportunity for learning, growth and evolution that create your success. You need mistakes. You must fail. The more the better.
Make more mistakes.
You, in action, will mean you’re ten gigantic steps ahead of everyone else still stuck in their boring fears.
And last but definitely not least — stop making this about you. Stop letting this boring fear paralyze you. Stop hiding. Stop it! You’re keeping the people who need you and your message the most from experiencing the shift, perspective and healing they need to move forward and find joy.
You’re holding back the secrets and experiences you’ve had, the things you’ve come through that make you you, make you real, and make you unique.
And because you’re afraid, someone else is alone.
Be brave folks. It’s not about you anymore. It’s about the person who needs to hear what you have to say, even if you’re shaking as you say it.
If you’re with me and still need more, shoot me an email and I’ll send you a little story that should tip you over the edge. If you’re good, then comment here, “I’m good, I’m doing this!”
