The Unapologetic You will Save the World

The Brave Healer blog series is becoming a tradition and I’m about to roll them out over the month of April. You can read the opener HERE.

What’s it mean to be the unapologetic you? How often are you being her?

I asked myself that question in the middle of my life when my marriage was falling apart and even though I seemingly had everything I should want, I felt miserable.

I realized I wasn’t being me, full on. I was wearing a mask most the time and pretending I was happy, cuz, well, I was supposed to be.

The chest tightness, and then pangs of pain clued me in; I had to make a change or I was going to have a heart attack.

Purpose-driven fear has a way of showing up again and again until you’re waking up enough to listen to that call of your soul and smart enough to do something about it.

I asked for a divorce and unapologetically set out on an adventure toward joy. There was no going back. And I was glad for that.

The unapologetic me is badass. And if you think she’s mean, or boastful, or some other bad version of the word, think again. The unapologetic me is more free, more relaxed, more clear and more helpful to others than she’s ever been in her life.

Because as soon as I realized that being the full-on, crazy, wild, authentic, fun-loving and joyfully positive, too much me was really what creates the health, wealth, happiness and energy I wanted, everything flowed from there. I started talking more about being unapologetic and I started practicing it more, and low and behold, I felt better.

Because—selfcare.

Being unapologetically you, whoever that is, however that soul needs to express in the world…that’s truly taking care of yourself. When that comes first, everything else feels like purpose. Everything.

Because you’re functioning inside of joy.

What does the unapologetic you feel like? Look like? Sound like? Do a little journaling about it today. See what comes up. And come back here and drop a comment about it. I’d LOVE to meet her!

You can read ALL the Unapologetic You stories over the next month HERE.
