The book is launched, yippee! Now what?

In the world of books, there are a lots of opportunities to celebrate and continue the positive mojo of the launch. Events are one of most fun ways to celebrate and spread the word!

After guiding 54 books and 600+ authors through their Amazon bestselling launches, and hosting multiple book launch parties, both online and in-person, I’m excited to bring you this guide to awesome events!

There are multitudes of ideas when it comes to hosting a great, fun, engaging, purposeful, and successful event.

First rule? If you’re not having fun, don’t do it.

The energy and intention behind your event will be the reason for its success. Start with getting your celebratory energy on point for the mission of the book.

In this guide you’ll find some steps to take to prepare, some party agenda ideas, and some other information to ensure your event is a raging success!

Congratulations on your book!

Prepare for Success

You can prepare for success and hold an amazing event if you follow some golden rules:

  1. Set the energy and intention for your event (like an event mission statement) first. What’s the theme of the book and event? What’s your goal for the event? What will it look like for this event to be successful? Are you measuring in number of attendees, book sales, networking opportunities, media presence, or another measure? Will the event be small, medium, or large? What defines those parameters for you, and how will you know if the event is a success? Don’t leave this to chance. Set your intentions, curate the energy, and pour that into your planning and dreaming process.
  2. Outline your event plan, agenda, date, time, everything. Start journaling your ideas and come up with a tentative plan.
  3. Choose partners who will be active in the planning and implementation process. Find great collaborators and don’t try to do everything by yourself. This includes a great venue, if the party is in-person. Make a list of potential partners.
