Mindful Practice Makes Magic; Day 6 of the Mastery Practice

Welcome to day 6/31! Read the introduction blog with all the details about this series HERE.
For each day of the month follow these steps:
1. Read the entire exercise quietly.
2. Now read it out loud to yourself.
3. Read the suggested affirmation out loud to yourself. (Or make up your own!)
4. Practice the exercise for that day, as often as you can
5. Journal about it that night or the next morning (but soon after you practice is best)
Day 6 Exercise: Just eat
Mindful eating is about slowing down and sensing, smelling, tasting, chewing and swallowing your food. It’s about noticing each stage of that. It’s about imagining the farm where your food grew before it was picked. It’s about the consciousness with which you come at your own nourishment. Today — see if you you can JUST drink or eat. Don’t multitask your meals today. For the journaling practice today, pick one sip or bite and describe every sensation you have with it. Write a few notes about how it felt to sense your food.
Affirmation: Today I’m noticing how it looks, smells, feels and tastes to eat and drink with awareness. I’m conscious of the nourishment I give myself and that enhances my experience.
