For those who’d rather just read it, I’m here on Medium with it too; a mindfulness practice with journaling exercises for you to follow every day for the month of July. Yes, this will be a 31-day blog series! Crazy, huh?
Why? Because I need these things too and this’s the best and fastest way to hold myself accountable to the practices I already know are magical. I don’t use the word magical lightly. My life has become a fantastic journey of serendipitous, aligned manifestations since awareness became my daily practice.
This’s going to be a guide to actually doing the things you know you need to do to bring your focus, attention and intention into the now moment; the only moment you have to live the life you crave and discover and fulfill your purpose and calling on this planet.
Mindfulness means awareness. When you’re aware, awake and alive inside of your moment you get the choice to think, believe and act in ways that serve the life you crave. And you have the opportunity to do that NOW! Like today. Like right now while you’re reading this!
What do you feel? Have you practiced feeling? Are you in tune with the subtle, powerful messages your body sends you on a moment to moment basis?
For my healer and writer colleagues; this was written from a healer/writer/play-bigger-in-the-world energy and I hope it brings you some inspiration and creative mojo for your practice.
Mindfulness is where it’s at when it comes to living with less stress, more peace and the opportunity for big love and joy. Notice I didn’t use the other “M” word here (meditation). I’m not asking you to try to sit on a pillow cross-legged for an hour every day. Nothing wrong with that, mind you. In fact it would do you some good. But starting by incorporating simple mindfulness practices into your daily routine makes for some badass awareness, shift and transformation.
What if this were easy?
By the way, there are so many more ways than the thirty-one I’m going to suggest to practice this mindfulness magic. So create your own! After getting some ideas and practicing some of these, put your own twist on them. Get your notebook out and write down all your thoughts, feelings and ideas as you go.
Because we’re not just going to practice mindful feeling, we’re going to write about it, and that’s equally magical. In fact, the process of connected journaling (allowing yourself to write from a place that’s connected to feeling instead of thinking) was the way my calling became a growing business. It was how my mission and purpose became my legacy.
This is crazy-powerful stuff folks. And I’m about to help you practice, one day at a time, for a full month. We’re going to create a new, healthier, better way to show up and live in the world with this practice.
Please share this with your friends. Not by sending it to them with a note that says, “You need this!” Be gentle — let them know you thought about them when you found it and invite them to do it with you!
Why not give it to you all at once instead of dragging it out for 31 days? Because I know it’s about taking small bites, chewing throuroughly and actually tasting the subtle hints of healing inside every single moment. If you eat the entire cake at once you’ll have a stomach ache and you’ll be stuck on the pot, so to speak.
