Holidays Stressing you Out Already? Try Laughing About it!

I caught myself stressing about the holidays this weekend. You know, that time of the year everything’s supposed to be about gratitude, merryiness and bright? Then I came across a post on Facebook that had me rolling…and said to myself, this can be way more fun! So I decided to write this little blog for you, incase you need a few reasons to laugh right now too!

Sometimes life is, um...challenging. But hey, when I get back to reality, my problems and fears seem a bit tiny and boring, and it seems like a good thing to move quickly into gratitude, and a little laughter.

You can read one post I wrote HERE about my recent bout with a root canal, a cold, and lice. All in the same week. Not sure if it will make you laugh, or cry, but either way it should be a good read to help you move through the fears that hold you back from the life you really crave. My week topped off with my dad landing in the ER for the second time in a few months. I thought those things came in threes…someone’s not counting. If you have a moment to send him some good vibes, that’d be awesome.

If you’re having any kind of similar, or worse time right now you need some serious funny stuff to help you move through the crap.

Let’s start with this Ted Talk HERE about the science of laughter. My friend Teri started a blog recently called ChickTalk, and I have a feeling it’s going to be goooood! (Not just for chicks, by the way). And she hooked us up with this amazing Ted Talk. Thanks Teri!

Next, if you haven’t been introduced to the comedian, JP Sears, please click HERE to watch his little video about the holidays. O. M. G. this guy is funny, and really breaks it down in a way that’ll make you think twice about stressing out the next two months.

And then HERE is one of my all-time favorite funnies by one of the all-time greatest comedians ever, the late Robin Williams. RIP. Dudes, if you haven’t listened to this one, please do yourself a favor and click. (F-Bomb warning on this little gem).

Here’s another one that had me belly-aching. Nina Conti is a ventriloquist. Gosh this is funny!!! Go HERE for that one. You’ll watch this more than once. And you should!

When you need to change the mood, lighten things up or flip your switch from Scrooge to Pharrell, do it! All it takes sometimes is a few minutes of laughter (or dancing!) to change everything!

I’m gearing up for a quiet Thanksgiving this year. Going out to dinner, in fact. Traditional Thanksgivings growing up were like this for me:
